In Music Technology you will work with other musicians to create recordings and arrangements of pre-existing compositions. You will develop your critical ear and ability to make musical judgements, and analyse the music of others. You will examine music across a diverse range of populkar genres from 1910 to the present day. you will learn new composition and arranging techniques. you should study this course if you want to increase your knowledge of modern music, and the ways in which is created, recorded and produced.

What you need to get on

GCSE Music Grade 6 or BTEC Music Merit level, plus the ability to sing or play an instrument. Irrespective of whether you intend to study Music Technology at Undergraduate level, the A Level is valuable due to the critical thinking and practical skills that are developed throughout the course. As such, Music Technology combines well with all subjects, from other Performing Arts to Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities and beyond.
