If you are a musician interested in sound production, or a wannabe music producer looking to create polished and professional sounding mixes, then music technology A Level is for you. It is a highly creative course where only true musicians with a good ear and an ability to manage their own time succeed
What you need to get on
In order to gain entry into Robert Smyth Academy Sixth Form you will need a minimum of 36 points, including a grade 4 in English and maths from your best eight GCSEs. It is useful, but not essential, to have GCSE music or a theory music qualification. You will be required to take a short music theory test and questionnaire before entry to the course
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
