If you're interested in taking an A level subject that combines creativity, hands-on practical work and scientific understanding then music technology could be for you. It will give you the skills to arrange, compose, produce and record music using modern technology. It complements arts subjects but also those such as mathematics, physics, computing and ICT. You'll develop transferable skills including creativity, project management and analytical listening that can be useful in a range of careers.

What you need to get on

General entry requirements with interview/audition. (Applicants do not need to be able to play a musical instrument but should be able to evidence their interest and/or experience in the subject. This could be via a portfolio of previous works or through a spoken interview with the course leader should you not have any prior subject specific qualifications).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
