We live in a media-saturated world. From TV advertisements, to posters at bus stops, to the video clips on your phone; you are surrounded by media messages for many of your waking hours. Studying media will enable students to become proficient in skills which are invaluable to employers including communication, research, planning, design, presentation skills and critical thinking. This is alongside gaining a greater understanding of how media can reflect your reality or control the way you view it.

What you need to get on

STS Sixth Form offers a broad range of A Level and Applied general qualifications that will prepare you for university or employment. To access this route, you will need to have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths; however, some subjects have specific entry criteria. Additional Entry Requirements GCSE English and/or Film and Media at grade 5 or above.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
