The core modules of pure mathematics will allow you to build on existing mathematical knowledge and skills, e.g. solving equations, using trigonometry, sketching graphs and proof. Students will also explore new areas of pure mathematics such as number series, differentiation and integration. The optional modules focus on applications of mathematics and will allow students to build on and develop new skills in Statistics, Mechanics or Design Mathematics. The skills and techniques studied in Applied Mathematics can be particularly valuable in supporting work in A level sciences, IT, humanities, economics and business studies.
