What the college says
This subject is about Latin language and literature. You will have the opportunity to study the poetry of Virgil and the court-room speeches of Cicero in the original language. You will be able to discuss the historical, social and political settings of the works you read, and form your own response to their moral and philosophical dimensions.
What you need to get on
Students should have gained at least a Grade 6 in English at GCSE, and at least a Grade 7 in Latin at GCSE.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
