Completing an A Level History course will allow you to study the subject in more depth. It is particularly relevant for you if you are aiming to pursue a history-related career or higher education course. History is regarded as a facilitating subject as it leaves open a wide range of options for university study. It combines well with most subjects offered at A Level.

What you need to get on

Subject specific requirement: Grade 6 or above in History or English at GCSE. Minimum requirements for all courses are a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths Five GCSEs at Grade 6. Students must be taking at least 7 GCSE's

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
