This course is designed for students who are clearly interested in and fascinated by the past. You do not have to want to be a Historian, HIstory teacher or museum curator to study History! In fact, History A Level will open many doors for you and can launch you into a career in law, journalism, or the civil service to name but a few possibilities. A study of History will equip you not only with a sound, research based understanding of the past, but also with the crucial skills of analysis, argument and extended writing; skills which are much valued by universities and employees.

What you need to get on

GCSE History Grade 6 and GCSE English Literature or English Language Grade 6. If History is not taken at GCSE; GCSE English Literature or English Language Grade 6.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
