This course is for students who want to continue studying History after GCSE and has been designed to help students understand the significance of historical events, the role of individuals in history and the nature of change over time. You'll already be familiar with some of the topics but the A level will give you the chance to study these and some new ones in much greater depth. It's a good combination with most other subjects you can study at A level.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs at grade 4+ and a grade 5 or above in GCSE History.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
