Why study this subject? History is not just studying what events happened, but why they happened and the perspective of people at the time and the interpretations of later historians. History is one of the most sought after qualifications and the most widely accepted by universities.

What you need to get on

STS Sixth Form offers a broad range of A Level and Applied general qualifications that will prepare you for university or employment. To access this route, you will need to have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths; however, some subjects have specific entry criteria. Entry Requirements Grade 6 or above in History.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
