What the college says
To develop a broad understanding of the human, economic, political, physical and environmental connections between people and places. Students complete the course with an enhanced understanding of global politics, environmental issues, economic governance and social development. Geography is a facilitating A Level with a scientific core, it develops data collection, analysis and interpretation methods. Research, fieldwork and exploration form the core component of the A Level course.
What you need to get on
Students do not need to have studied GCSE geography but should have achieved at least a Grade 5 in English Language, 4 in Mathematics and 5 in Science at GCSE. A genuine interest in the world around us and a willingness to investigate is essential.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
