Further Mathematics is an additional A-Level in Mathematics and is studied in conjunction with A-Level Mathematics. Further Mathematics is highly recommended for students who wish to continue their study of Mathematics at degree level or who intend to take a degree such as Engineering with a high mathematical content and, as such, should only be considered by those with a real passion for Mathematics.

What you need to get on

34 points minimum. Students must have achieved at least a Grade 7 in the higher tier of GCSE Mathematics. Students should also appreciate the large quantity of algebra covered within the course and, as such, need to be proficient at the basic algebraic skills covered within the GCSE course.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
