Taking Further Maths allows you to study a greater breadth of the branches of Mathematics and also explore them in more depth. If you enjoy Mathematics and are a strong mathematician it is the ideal course to prepare you for a route into university to study Maths or any Maths related Science.

What you need to get on

You must have a keen interest in maths and have obtained at least grade 7 in GCSE Maths. If you think you may study Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Natural Sciences at University then Further Maths at A-level is highly desirable for many and essential for some courses. You cannot study Further Maths by itself - you must also study A level Mathematics.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
