What the college says

If you have already chosen Advanced Level Mathematics you may wish to consider Further Mathematics at either Advanced Subsidiary or Advanced Level. Further Mathematics is suitable for those who really enjoy a mathematical challenge and are expected to achieve a grade 8 or above at GCSE. You should be able to think and work independently, and be prepared to do a significant amount of private study. AS Further Maths is not necessarily more difficult than AS Maths, it merely looks at new topics and new aspects of mathematics that we do not have time to study in AS Maths. However, A Level Further Mathematics does have a greater level of difficulty and challenge than A Level Mathematics. NOTE: You CANNOT study Further Maths unless you are also doing Mathematics.
