This course is particularly aimed at able students with a strong interest in pursuing mathematical subjects after A levels such as engineering, science, computing or technology, as well as mathematics itself. If you're planning to study A level maths and would like to broaden and deepen your mathematical knowledge and skills, then taking further maths alongside A level maths may be for you. Further maths is a facilitating subject which means it will also prepare you for a wide range of higher education subjects. Some universities may require further maths for entry to maths degree courses. It will give you a range of transferable skills including logical reasoning and problem solving that are useful in a range of careers.

What you need to get on

In order to gain entry to The Boswells Sixth Form all students must achieve a minimum of 40 points from their best 8 GCSE subjects, including minimum grade 4 in English Language and Maths. Subject Specific requirements: You will need a minimum 7 Grade at GCSE in Mathematics to study Further Maths
