This course will help you develop your knowledge of the French language and your understanding of French culture and society through the study of authentic and current articles, modern literary texts and films. The study of French at A Level will enable you to develop excellent communication and critical thinking skills, explore a wide range of topics about French contemporary society, as well as perfect the written and spoken language at A Level.

What you need to get on

Students studying three A Levels and/or AAQs will be expected to have a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 5 and three at grade 4, including English Language and Mathematics. Students studying four A Levels will be expected to have a minimum of six GCSEs at grade 7, 8 or 9 including English Language and Mathematics at grade 6 or above. You will also need GCSE French at grade 6 or to be a native French speaker.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
