English Literature focuses on analysing poetry, novels and plays. At AS, you will study Othello and a range of pre-1900 poetry, alongside two novels: The Great Gatsby and Persuasion. For the second year, you will build on your AS texts by studying modern poetry, prose and drama, as well as completing an extended piece of coursework based on The Woman in White and a partner text of your choice.
