What the college says

English Literature is a course designed for students who are passionate about English Literature and enjoy reading. You will have the opportunity to explore a range of texts and genres from different time periods and authors. You will have the opportunity to study Shakespeare and an array of poets across time. We also opt to study modern literature which will allow you to examine how the issues of the modern world are presented on the page from sexuality and femininity to war, conflict and politics. English literature is an academic subject respected by all universities, and particularly Russell Group Universities. Students who excel in this subject are good communicators, can write effectively and are able to analyse, debate and explore perspectives in detail.
