English Literature is a subject which is both challenging and enjoyable in which you will have the opportunity to develop speaking and listening as well as reading and writing skills. You may take English Literature in combination with English Language. English Literature combines well with virtually any other subject, and is regarded as being useful for a wide variety of careers (e.g. teaching, accountancy, law, etc.)

What you need to get on

General Entry Criteria: An APS (average GCSE point score) of greater than 4.5 drawn from all GCSE results (from a minimum of 6 entries) Either Maths Grade 4 and/or English Language or Literature Grade 4. Note: Only one BTEC or GCSE equivalent vocational course may be counted. ECDL or similar non-GCSE equivalent courses do not count for 6th Form entry. For English Literature you will also require a Grade 5 in GCSE English Lang and Lit.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
