Did you discover and develop a passion for the written word through literary study at GCSE? Are you now ready for the next step into critical, philosophical, psychological and political readings of prose, poetry and drama? Join us in our ever-evolving and deepening passion for the classics, drama and thought-provoking, evocative poetry as we investigate society and the human condition through many lenses and perspectives. We work closely in small, seminar-style groups. Lessons are led by your readings and interpretations of texts followed by regular timed assessments to to help prepare for the required exam rigour. We encourage research and debate as core principles for the successful academic reading of literature.

What you need to get on

GCSE English Literature: grade 6 GCSE English Language: grade 6 Studying A Level English Literature requires analytical thought and evaluative writing, both crucial skills for further undergraduate study across many disciplines, especially the arts, humanities and social sciences. It is also welcomed for many different careers because it emphasises creativity, disciplined thought and communication, plus an ability to synthesise and contextualise ideas.
