This course is for students who are interested in understanding how individuals, businesses and governments make economic decisions. It is ideal for those who enjoy current affairs, problem-solving and analysing real-world issues such as inflation, unemployment, taxation, global trade and environmental sustainability. You do not need to have studied GCSE Economics, although an interest in current events and confidence with numerical data will be beneficial.

What you need to get on

Students should meet the academy’s standard entry requirements for A Levels. A minimum of Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics and Grade 5 in GCSE English Language is recommended, as the course involves data analysis, interpretation of graphs and extended written responses.
