Anyone with an interest in understanding how individuals, businesses and governments make decisions about using our scarce world resources. You don't need to have studied it at GCSE to take the A Level and it fits particularly well with most subjects including other social sciences, history and geography, as well as with business related subjects. It will give you transferable skills frequently sought after by employers including numeracy, extended writing, analytical and decision making skills as well as commercial awareness: an essential requirement for business.

What you need to get on

At least 2 GCSE Grade 6 and above and 4 GCSE grade 5 and above. 15% of the assessment for A Level Economics is mathematical so a firm grasp of Maths is helpful and at least a Grade 5 at GCSE is desirable.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
