Economics is the study of how society uses the world's resources. A Level economics introduces students to the basic concepts, theories and issues that compose the economic world. When studying Economics, students will apply economic theory to support analysis of current economic problems and issues. The specification encourages students to appreciate the interrelationships between microeconomics and macroeconomics. Students develop the knowledge and skills needed to understand and analyse data, think critically about issues and make informed decisions. They will also build upon their quantitative skills and appreciate that, when evaluating arguments, both qualitative and quantitative evidence are important.

Grade 6 at GCSE Maths and 5 at GCSE English.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
