Drama and Theatre at A Level is about exploring the pathways of being a Performer, Designer and Director for Theatre. During the course you will go to see at least 2 live theatre shows, create your own Drama as well as perform extracts from 2 pre-existing plays. You can also choose to take the design route of the course meaning you act as a costume, light, set or sound designer for performance. You will study 2 plays in depth for the end exam but you respond to questions with your own creative ideas and vision - there is a focus on how you would breathe life into these plays. The course is about the enjoyment and magic of theatre, its importance in our country and its place in our society.

What you need to get on

6 GCSE/BTEC passes at Level 4 or above. It is desirable to achieve a Level 5 or above in this subject at GCSE (or a related subject).

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
