GCE A Level in Drama and Theatre
at Titus Salt School, Shipley · school or sixth form
What the college says
The A level Drama and Theatre qualification encourages creativity and collaborative working, with a focus on practical work and developing analytical skills that will support progression to further study of drama beyond Post-16 and a wide range of other subjects, including English Literature.
What you need to get on
Drama is a practical and dynamic subject which requires commitment and focus. As there is analysis of set texts, as well as practical exploration, it is preferable that there is an interest in the study of Literature too. GCSE Grade 5+ for Drama is necessary, with GCSE English Literature at Grade 5+ as a desirable quality. However, consideration will be given to those with relevant experience, commitment and enthusiasm for the subject.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
