Why choose Business Studies? Business is front page news. The subject allows students to explore business behaviour and understand how a business operates and what can influence its success. It gives pupils the opportunity to understand how the world they live in works, as well as developing entrepreneurial skills, problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. It combines well with all other subjects due to its relevance to so many careers and everyday life. If you have Business Studies A level it can be attractive to employers as it shows you have a background knowledge of how a business works, so you can then be considered for higher positions. Career choices with A-level Business include management, marketing, finance, accounting, banking, retailing, manufacturing and local government. Many universities accept Business A level when students are applying for courses such as Economics, Business Studies and many other options.

What you need to get on

Grade 5 in GCSE Business Studies. If Business has not been studied at GCSE, a Grade 5 in GCSE English Language and Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
