This subject is about the business world, how it works and how it affects society. It is centrally concerned with how businesses analyse their options to achieve the best outcome. This course provides a broad understanding of business knowledge and skills to support progression to higher education. Students will gain a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society's needs and wants and they will generate enterprising and creative approaches to business opportunities, problems and issues. Students will acquire a range of relevant business and generic skills, including decision making, problem solving, the challenging of assumptions and critical analysis and they will apply numerical skills in a range of business contexts.

What you need to get on

GCSE English Language or GCSE English Literature and GCSE Mathematics Grade 5 or above. If taken, GCSE Business Studies at Grade 5 or above.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
