This course aims to develop your interest and enthusiasm for biology. You will appreciate how society makes decisions about biology related issues and how biology contributes to the success of the economy and society. Over the two year course you will study eight topics: 1. Biological molecules 2. Cells 3. How organisms exchange substances with their environment 4. Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms 5. Energy transfers in between organisms 6. Organism response to changes in their internal and external environments 7. Genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems 8. The control of gene expression There are trips to universities and university lectures and practicals to further enhance your biology knowledge.

What you need to get on

Grade 5 or above in GCSE Math's and English, B or higher at GCSE Additional/Triple Science and 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above in other subjects.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
