This is a 2 year course and units include topics on: Biological Molecules, Cells, Exchange and transport, Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms, Energy transfers in and between organisms, Organism's responses to their environments, Populations genetics, evolution and ecosystems, Gene expression and gene technologies. There is no coursework requirement, however, your performance during practicals will be assessed by your teacher and through exams. There are three A2 exams all of which are two hours long.

What you need to get on

5 GCSE A* to C or 9 to 5 including B or 6 in Biology (triple) or BB or 66 in Biology (double), B or 6 in English, C or 5 in Maths

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
