The study at Biology A Level is designed to increase scientific knowledge and develop an enquiring and critical approach through practical work. The subject encourages an appreciation of how society makes decisions about biological issues such as GM foods, genetic engineering, global warming and public health measures, as well as providing an insight into the living world.

What you need to get on

Minimum requirements for all courses are a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths Five GCSEs at Grade 6. Students must be taking at least 7 GCSE's Subject specific requirements -Grade 7-6+ in Combined Science or Grade 6+ in Biology.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
