What the college says
To develop key skills of research, analysis and communication of ideas and develop an understanding of significant historical events, the role of individuals in history and the nature of change over time. As well as this students will gain a deeper understanding of the past via the study of a range of evidence and interpretations in order to appreciate the past from a political, social, economic or cultural perspective.
What you need to get on
Standard entry requirement: 5 GCSEs graded at 4 or above (counting 2 BTECs maximum). A grade 4 in English or Maths Subject specific entry requirements: Grade 6 in GCSE History and Grade 5 in English. Good literacy and a positive attitude towards your studies are expected.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
