The aim of this course is to develop an enjoyment and appreciation of English Literature, both in and beyond the classroom. You will be encouraged to read widely and it will be for that reason that only those with a love of reading should consider this subject. English Literature focuses on independence and this is further encouraged through the opportunity for you to write about a book and poem of your choice for your coursework, and apply aspects of literacy criticism to them.
