What the college says

You will study A Level further mathematics in conjunction with A Level mathematics and, normally, two other A Level subjects. The Fast Track course attracts students who enjoy mathematics and are keen to extend their knowledge. Further maths takes many of the concepts met in A Level maths to a higher place. It is important to note that “Further” maths does not necessarily mean “harder” maths; many of the first year topics can be studied immediately by any student who has GCSE maths.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C) or above with a grade 8 (grade A*) or above in GCSE maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
