What the college says
This course is designed to develop and extend the analytical techniques met on the A Level Mathematics course. New topics will include complex numbers, roots of polynomials, matrices, series, differential equations and linear algebra as well as the calculus which forms an essential part of any physical science course. In addition, students will apply these Pure Mathematics techniques to a range of physical problems including collisions, projectiles and oscillating systems.
What you need to get on
A minimum of five passes at grade 5 or higher at GCSE, three of which must be a grade 6 or higher. Within these passes there must be a grade 5 or higher in English Language and a grade 8 in Maths. Further Maths can only be studied with A Level Maths.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
