Further Mathematics A Level is not just for those who want to go on and study Mathematics at university. An increasing range of university course value Further Mathematics and use it to discriminate between applicants with similar A Level profiles. Further Mathematics is not just for exceptionally talented mathematics students; anyone who enjoys mathematics and thinks they might wish to do a degree at university in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Natural Sciences or Economics, or possibly a training programme in the business and financial sectors, should seriously consider the advantages of having an A Level in Further Mathematics.

What you need to get on

The minimum academic entrance requirement is 6 x Grade 9-6 GCSEs with at least 3 subjects at Grade 6 including English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or higher. We strongly advise that students have at least a GCSE Grade 6 in the subjects they will study at A Level. Some subjects can be taken at A Level without having studied them at GCSE. Compulsory subject specific criteria: Taking A Level Mathematics and GCSE Mathematics Grade 8 or higher
