This course is particularly aimed at able students with a strong interest in pursuing mathematical subjects after A levels such as engineering, science, computing or technology, as well as mathematics itself. If you're planning to study A level maths and would like to broaden and deepen your mathematical knowledge and skills, then taking further maths alongside A level maths may be for you. Further maths is a facilitating subject which means it will also prepare you for a wide range of higher education subjects. Some universities may require further maths for entry to maths degree courses. It will give you a range of transferable skills including logical reasoning and problem solving that are useful in a range of careers.

What you need to get on

In order to secure a place in our sixth form for Further Maths, a student is required to achieve the following grades: • At least a grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics. Students mjust also study Mathematics A Level. • At least a grade 5 in GCSE English Language or GCSE English Literature • At least four additional grade 6 GCSEs or equivalent
