This qualification is a basic craft introduction to the Furniture Making industry. This course gives you the knowledge and skills to enable you to achieve a recognised Furniture Making trade qualification which could lead to employment or an apprenticeship. Attendance for this course is two full days each week for 35 weeks.
What you need to get on
Essential Requirements- you must have:----Achieved Level 1 Diploma in Furniture Making--an initial assessment in Maths and English at level 1 or above--Demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm and a commitment to succeed and prepare effectively for employment----Desirable Requirements:----Achieved 3 GCSEs grade D and above including Maths and English--An attendance record at college in excess of 90%--A strong commitment to adopt a 'work ready' approach, taking responsibility for your own development and behaviour--Completed 30 hours or more of work experience within the construction industry--
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
