Do you enjoy working with different types of wood, creating designs and producing wooden products? Are you looking to get a job where you work with your hands? This course could be for you. Our City & Guilds Furniture Making programme at Newark will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress within the furniture making industry. The course is aimed at those with a passion for working with different timbers and in wanting to achieve excellent craft skills in both design and manufacture. Setting the bar high you will be surprised by what you can ultimately achieve. The furniture department has now received over ten City & Guilds medals of excellence awarded due to the exceptional work of our learners. A superb accolade for the learners, in helping their career post college. You will be inducted on a wide range of machinery and will be expected to machine your own components as required. There is a well-ordered furniture making workshop with self-contained classrooms as well as a dedicated machine shop. The College has also undertaken work for the National Trust which is a unique opportunity to learn different skills and produce something for future generations to see.
