Functional Skills Mathematics requires learners to use maths in ways that make them effective and involved as citizens, to operate confidently in life, and to work in a wide range of contexts. For mathematics to be useful, learners must have the skills and confidence to apply, combine and adapt their mathematical knowledge to new situations in their life and work. The capacity to identify and understand the role that mathematics plays in the world is crucial in enabling learners to function as effective citizens.

No previous qualifications required for this course however students would be expected to be functioning at Level 2

How you are assessed

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
