What the college says

Level 2 mathematics delivered within apprenticeship programme. Level 2 is offered to learners without an equivalent qualification and where only minimum requirements have already been met. An initial assessment and Diagnostic assessment will be taken at the start of the programme in order to see what level the student is working towards and if there are any skills gaps, this may be developed by completing a project whilst on block release, there is a specialist Functional Skills available in centre who will carry out sessions relating to upskilling gaps up to level 2 standard. It may be possible to use a previous awarded qualification as an exception for Maths, this would need to be at the correct level and accepted by Ace certs.

What you need to get on

Initial assessment should be 'working towards level 2', Diagnostic assessments will be undertaken to identify any gaps in learning. BKSB is used to support students with learning modules and planned tutor sessions are scheduled throughout the programme.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
