It is suitable for anyone working in catering and for those who are preparing to work in the catering industry. It is also suitable for anyone dealing with food either in the home or other social or voluntary roles. On completion of this course learners will understand and have knowledge of: • Basic food safety laws • How to keep yourself clean and hygienic • How to keep your work area clean • How food becomes contaminated and your role in reducing contamination • Using and maintaining correct temperatures throughout stages of food handling • The causes and effects of food poisoning The course is suitable for all levels of learners and appropriate needs can be taken into consideration for all learners.
