Immerse in the world of cybersecurity and IT with our unique hybrid qualification at MidKent College. The digital world is rapidly changing, and our Level 2 IT course provides an opportunity for students to prepare their careers in the digital world and a professional environment, by learning fundamental skills in IT, Media and Business. Newly revamped for this year, the Level 2 IT qualification has been split between BTEC and another awarding body TLM, who have provided a unique qualification based in cybersecurity and data forensics, a prevalent area of the industry that is only becoming more crucial in the digital age. By combining these two qualifications into a unique programme, this bespoke qualification enables our students to gain an industry-relevant set of skills and knowledge well-suited to the current digital industry climate. The online world Cyber security Web development World of IT You will learn by completing a variety of activities based on realistic work situations, with a mixture of theory and practical sessions. You will be continuously assessed throughout the course, with your final grade dependent on coursework as well as two exams, in January and June. This study programme includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme.

What you need to get on

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
