This is a one year course leading to a GCSE. The course is about how computers work and the part played by IT in our society. It continues the approach to IT in the National Curriculum but in a more specialised way. Students do both theory work in class and practical work on computers. Hours of Lessons per Week : 4.3 Indicative Group Size : 18

What you need to get on

You need the standard College entry requirements for GCSEs with English GCSE at Grade D and you should have some previous experience in using computers. Both male and female students follow this course.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
