What the college says

The afterschool club is for young children (8-12 years old) to come and spend an hour learning about the amazing animals at Broomfield Hall Animal Unit. Each week will be on a different section of the Animal Unit so always something new to see and do. Children will get to learn how to handle some of the animals, helping with grooming the animals, behaviour observations, making enrichment, health checks and helping to feed them. Children will get to work in the following sections of the Animal Unit (Reptile Room, Small Mammal room, Rodent Room, Zoo Animal and Farm Animals) Parents/guardians are welcome to wait on site whilst the children undertake the activities.

What you need to get on

You will need basic literacy and numeracy skills, and some basic knowledge of animal care. You should be aged 8-12 years.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
