Aimed at School Leavers. The course offers students the opportunity to study a wide range of Art and Design subjects. It is ideal for those aiming to progress to higher education and careers in the art and design industries but have not settled on a specialism. The course enables the most able students to progress to HE without the need for the additional Foundation year. You will be taught by a range of experienced staff, many of who are practicing artists. Field trips and visits to exhibitions are organised throughout the course to help inspire you and develop a thorough knowledge of art and design enabling you to choose a specialist pathway for the second year of the course. The course units are delivered through assignment briefs and the completion of practical project work. Your work is assessed by your tutors and the grades awarded are externally verified by the exam board. Cronton is an exciting challenging and dynamic environment in which to study, where students have access to high quality specialist resources, equipment and technical support. Resulting in 100percent achievement rates in the Vocational Arts area this year. Your GCSE results will determine the level you start at: Level 3 - Five or more GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English Language and Maths Level 2 - Four or more GCSEs at grade 9-3 including English Language and Maths Level 1 - Four or more GCSEs at grade 9-2 including English Language and Maths Specific grades are required in certain subjects.
