The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) allows students to extend their abilities beyond the A-level syllabus and prepare for university or their future career. It is worth half an A-level (70 UCAS points) so can be used to earn extra UCAS points. The Extended Project will develop and extend from one or more of the student's study areas and/or from an area of personal interest or activity outside their main programme of study. It will be based on a topic chosen by the student(s) and agreed as appropriate by the centre.

What you need to get on

For applicants who wish to study 3 A levels and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) they will require an Attainment 8 Score of 60pts to include at least a Grade 5 in Mathematics and English Language. A minimum of a Grade 6 is required in the subject to be studied at A level. For applicants who wish to study 4 A levels they will require an Attainment 8 Score of 68pts to include at least a Grade 5 in Mathematics and English Language. A minimum of a Grade 6 is required in the subject to be studied at A level.
