Level 3 Extended Project Qualification
at Bluecoat Aspley Academy, Nottingham · school or sixth form
What the college says
As an independent piece of work carried out over one year, you will be completing your own EPQ based on an idea that you want to research. This may be an area that you have a passion for, a topic that may support you in your university applications, a theme to help you to achieve your career aspirations or simply an issue that you want to find out more about. Your EPQ will consist of three main elements. The first main document is the production log, which you will complete to record the project process in its entirety. This includes your planning, feedback that you receive and how and why you have responded to this, how the project has changed or followed your plan and your reflections on the entire process. The second main element is the 5000-word essay or report. This is where you will discuss and analyse your findings and evaluate your question based on your research. The third main element is the presentation to a small audience. There are lots of other parts that you’ll need to complete along the way to support your production log and report, these include, amongst other things, detailed research, evaluation of research and project planning tools.
