This course allows students to pursue independent research, and the development of a personalised learner response to their chosen project objectives, the Extended Project is a way of achieving deeper, more reflective understanding of a subject area or to look at a new one they have a personal interest in. Essentially, this is a matter of challenging learners to think more reflectively and analytically about the main concepts that they use in their project and which they might ordinarily take for granted.

What you need to get on

Students submit an application/proposal in December of Year 12 if they would like to take the EPQ. There will be up to 30 places available.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
