What the college says

The Extended Project Qualification was launched in the academy in 2014. The EPQ is a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop their skills in preparation for higher education. Worth, half an A-level, universities place a high emphasis on this qualification, either offering places based on this qualification, lowering entry requirements or giving preference to students who have studied the EPQ. Our students are able to choose from producing an artefact (examples include sculptures, organising events, musical productions) or an essay on their topic of interest. As part of the process students formulate their own title and must submit their proposal to their Supervisor prior to the production of their essay or artefact. Our students also have regular meetings with their Supervisor to discuss the progress of their project.

What you need to get on

General Sixth Form entry requirements as detailed in the Sixth Form Prospectus plus course specific entry requirements of GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade 5.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
