What the college says

Environmental Science is the fastest growing science discipline and covers a wide range of scientific ideas aligned with physical and social geography, conservation science and zoology, marine biology and ecology, politics and engineering, new technologies and local, national and international politics. All these aspects of life on our planet are inextricably linked and Environmental Science begins to make sense of the links. We look at the causes and consequences of the impact we, as humans, are having on our planet and explore possible solutions and strategies to lessen our impact or make it more sustainable. Over the last 50 years public consciousness about our planet has increased and this course will provide a foundation in the skills, knowledge and background to be able to find solutions to the climate crisis and prepare students for a life where industries need to understand their position in a global ecosystem. Environmental Science is one of the fastest growing degree subjects and this A Level course is the perfect course to prepare students for living and understanding what it takes to live a sustainable life on our planet and the impact that our actions have. The course builds knowledge, develops critical thinking skills and develops students ability to analyse data, pose questions and design scientific experiments to better understand the world around us.
